This Woody Allen-Barcelona flick is getting better & better

scarlett-johansson-pics.jpgMan, this Woody Allen movie shot in Barcelona is suddenly becoming one of my favourite projects in production. There's talk (NOT CONFIRMED!!!) that Allen wants to use Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall for his new movie in Barcleona, that already has Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem cast.

Now before you call me a pervert for getting excited about these two beautiful actresses' being cast in the movie alongside Cruz (although that is probably part of it)... let me explain myself. There is just something special and captivating about the way some directors shoot gorgeous and talented actresses'. Alfred Hitchcock was always a master at shooting the likes of Ingrid Bergman, Grace Kelly, Tippi Hedren and Eva Maria Saint in such a way that you would be mesmerized by their performances on screen. Bernado Bertolucci can do it as well in things like Stealing Beauty, The Conformist and The Dreamers. Woody Allen did a great job with Johansson in Match Point (less so with Scoop) and with the imagery of Spain, surely it can't go wrong? Cinematographer Javier Aguirresarobe who did a great job on The Others and the atmospheric looking Goya's Ghosts has been tapped up to work on the movie also. Virtually nothing is known about the plot, except that it's meant to be "romantic, but not serious" which is a shame because Allen is far better at being serious. Oh, and don't put yourself in the movie this time! source - cinema blend, screen dailly
