Thor: Ragnarok is one of the year's best-reviewed blockbusters and another smash hit for the MCU, opening to an impressive $107.6 million in its opening weekend internationally.

While some fans might argue that it's not an especially high bar to clear, Ragnarok is certainly the best of the three Thor movies to date, simply offering up a more distinct, stylish and consistently entertaining whole. This is the Thor movie fans deserve, basically.

Of course, we'd never be here without Kenneth Branagh's fine work on the 2011 original, and though the Alan Taylor-directed follow-up The Dark World is probably the MCU's worst film, it's certainly not a terrible movie in any traditional sense.

Under the assured direction of the fantastic Taika Waititi, though, the character finally gets to realise his full potential in a terrifically off-the-wall, otherworldly adventure, one that makes the first two movies look so much worse by comparison...
