After what feels like an age waiting, we finally have a proper first look at Thor: Ragnarok, the low-key most exciting comic book movie of 2017. Why's it so exciting? Well, for a start, the talent involved is massive, the director is a hilarious visionary and it's adapting two great comic arcs... And now, thanks to EW's latest issue, we know for certain that it looks incredible.

The issue has revealed first looks at four of the main characters, with new looks for both Thor and Loki as well as some pretty big revelations.

The overall look definitely fits with the idea that Taika Waititi is making a film in his own image: funny, colourful and fun. As Chris Hemsworth seems to suggest, this is not like any other comic book movie, and despite the title and the world-ending connotations of war, this is not a grim-fest:

“Taika has such a quirky, left-of-field sense of humor, which forced all the characters and the tone of the whole story to head in a new direction. Each day we were like, ‘Are we pushing it too far? Are we allowed to have this much fun?’”

And if you aren't already excited enough about the project, Kevin Feige seems to be making it his personal duty not to let the film suck"

“I have a belief that if you’re lucky enough to get to part 3 of a franchise, it is your obligation not to fall to threequel-itis."

But what can we learn from the images and information dropped by EW?
