Want to see him play Thor?

If one big new rumour is anything to go by, Matt Damon might have a secret cameo in Thor: Ragnarok, to the surprise of probably the entire world.

According to the Weekly Planet podcast - quoting a mysterious source who has apparently seen a big slice of Ragnarok already - are claiming that Damon is in there:

There’s a scene set on Asgard, in which we watch an Asgardian theater production that essentially recounts the entirety of Thor 1, like as a play, and in this theater piece the role of Loki is played by an Asgardian actor played by Matt Damon.

Ordinarily, that would sound utterly preposterous - particularly the idea of Damon just dropping in - but then you consider that Taika Waititi is the director and it suddenly becomes altogether more believable. This sounds precisely like the sort of humour he'd want to inject, even if Damon would probably cost a lot for that sort of appearance.

So while it might be worth taking it with a pinch of salt, it would be phenomenal if it proved to be true. Though the downside, of course, would mean he'd be unlikely to feature elsewhere in the MCU.
