Thor Ragnarok: Hulk V Thor AND Surtur The Demon Confirmed

Thor, all out war and massive fiery demons...

Thor Ragnarok

It's all getting too much, I'm a bit giddy.

Hot on the heels of showing off Hulk's amazing looking gladiator armour for Thor Ragnarok, Marvel have confirmed some fresh new details from Taika Waititi's upcoming threequel.

And by God does it sound good?

The panel on Ragnarok started with an allegedly hilarious mockumentary made by Waititi explaining what Hulk and Thor were up to during the events of Civil War. Thor was living in a small apartment in Australia with a guy called Daryl Jacobsen, kicking back and basically being a burden and volunteering at a primary school. He also dictates a letter to Cap and Iron Man (as per SlashFilm's description):

[To Tony] “How’s it going? Remember that time you created the possessed robot that nearly destroyed Earth? That was funny.” [To Steve Rogers]: “Do you remember when I goaded you into killing those prisoners and you made me swear not to tell the other Avengers? I haven’t told them yet.”

It's also revealed Tony Stark apparently spent a lot of time ringing Banner to get him to join his side in Civil War to no avail.

Hopefully this is going to be released in some form, even if it's only on the blu-ray way down the line.

The other more serious footage and concept art shown has a number of major revelations: Thor has cut his hair off, he and Hulk are forced to battle in a gladiatorial arena (probably by the Grandmaster) and the reveal of Surtur the Demon. That last bit is a major, major big deal.

In the comics, Surtur was freed by Loki alongside the enemies of Asgard and they attack Asgard to bring about the destruction of Thor and his fellow Gods. Presumably that is Loki and Hela's aim.

It all sounds amazing.

Thor: Ragnarok is released on July 28th 2017.
