Thor: The Dark World - 5 Awesome Elements It Nailed (And 1 That Failed)

Thor The Dark World1 Superhero films sure are one the rise. That was the conversation I had with my friends when walking out of the theatre after seeing Thor: The Dark World. It was a full house inside, both 2D and 3D receiving high ticket sales. And after it was all over, everyone applauded the film. Especially my friends and I. With 2013 delivering its final comic book film of the year, Thor: The Dark World seals it all off with an explosive bang that reverberates back to The Avengers with slick style and finess. To me, 2013 has been a far-surpassed year over 2012, with Marvel entering into Phase 2 of its Cinematic Universe. Iron Man 3 kickstarted the trend, with Thor: The Dark World continuing in just the style we would expect from a Thor film. With The Wolverine added as filler as a prelude to Days of Future Past, the Guardians of the Galaxy ready to make their debut, Spider-Man prepared to swing back in, and Captain America ready to pack Marvel's biggest punch yet in 2014, next year will no doubt be an expansion of success for 2013. The time of the geek is now. But before we get to 2014 and all its flashy glory, we must first discuss Thor: The Dark World. As the second entry into Phase 2, Thor looks to get back into the spotlight with his biggest single outing yet. And it truly is, with a much more personal and down-to-earth story between Thor, Loki, Jane Foster, and everyone else in between. Alan Taylor took the concept from the first Thor film, understood its workings and characters, and molded his version off that inspiration, creating a strongly gratifying sequel that lives up to all its expectations and beyond. After witnessing the film, and going into deep thought about it, I've conjured 5 elements that made The Dark World a fantastic sequel, and an incredible successor to The Avengers. But deeper thought was needed to point out 1 flaw, which was evenly divided between two key issues, of which I will explain in due time. Just a fair warning: there is a spoiler warning ahead. So advise with caution if you don't want your enjoyment ruined. To start off with, let's dive into the 5 positive aspects of The Dark World...
