Tom Cruise picks Lions for Lambs

tom-cruise-2.jpgA couple of weeks ago we reported that Tom Cruise had three possible roles lined up for his next film and it was just a matter of choosing which one. Fast forward to today, and it's been revealed that he chose the Indie movie Lions for Lambs, which was always said to be his favourite choice. More info from Coming Soon.... "Lambs" is a Matthew Carnahan-scripted drama that consists of three interconnected storylines: Cruise as a congressman who interacts with a journalist (Streep); Redford as an idealistic professor who attempts to inspire a privileged student in his class; and a third storyline about a pair of American soldiers wounded in enemy territory, one of whom is Redford's former student. The movie will mark the first outing for United Artists after Cruise recently agreed to revive the company and will see veteran Robert Redford act and direct. I was hoping Cruise was going to star in Spike Lee'sSelling Time but nevertheless it's just good to see him back working again. It's probably a good choice too, I think the movie going audience were getting sick of seeing Cruise headline big blockbuster movies so a grounded indie drama might stop the hate! source - variety, coming soon
