Tom Holland Joins Lost City Of Z

Spidey's landed another gig.

Tom Holland's been a very busy boy lately. A few months ago he landed the coveted role of Spider-Man, and over the past few weeks he has been shooting scenes for Captain America: Civil War in Atlanta and Germany. He's not stopping there though, as he's joined the cast of James Gray's Lost City of Z. Presumably so he can cram in a few extra roles before the world forgets he ever did anything else, and just starts calling him Peter Parker. Holland's role in the film isn't confirmed, but he'll be joining Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller. Lost City of Z is an adaptation of David Grann's best-selling book, in which a conscripted soldier (Hunnam) attempts to rediscover a lost Amazonian city, one he believes he may have encountered on a past expedition. Holland's stock in Hollywood has risen considerably in the past few months thanks to the Marvel gig, so it's wise for the young actor to get out there and strike when the iron's hot. Both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield had a bevvy of diverse roles under their belts before they strapped on the suit, and to this day, each has a sustainable and interesting career. Holland, I'm sure, will want to follow in their foot-steps. Playing an icon is a wonderful thing, but no actor in the world wants to become exclusively tied to a single character, and by working now, Holland can help alleviate that danger later. Pattinson and Hunnam have both been spotted in Belfast recently, so keep an eye out for Holland if you're in the region. Lost City of Z just commenced principal photography in the city, and will move onto Columbia at a later point. The film opens in 2016.
