Tom Hooper In Talks To Direct LES MISERABLES

Brief update to Ben's story from exactly one month ago - Deadline are reporting that Tom Hooper is now in talks to direct Universal's adaptation of the popular and extremely depressing musical Les Miserables for the big screen, which looks to be the Oscar winning The King's Speech director's next film. Fleming says it will be a "full-blown musical adaptation of the Cameron Mackintosh-produced perennial stage hit" and we imagine the likes of Anne Hathaway, Gwyneth Paltrow and Hugh Jackman who have all been desperate to show us they can sing and dance and perform on stage, will be linked with the movie in the coming months. Bill Nicholson, co-writer of Gladiator and Elizabeth: The Golden Age has wrote the script with production expected to begin in Europe before the end of the year. Read Ben's original story HERE.
