Top 10 Movie Santa Clauses

9. Tom Hanks - The Polar Express

The technology might not yet have been perfected, and as a result all of the characters had that slightly creepy dead-eyed glaze about them, but The Polar Express is a charming Christmas film with an endearing storyline and some well-pitched characters. Hanks of course plays multiple parts, and he brings a nice removed majesty to his Santa Claus which is perfect for the children's vision of the magical figure. Nice character design as well.

8. Paul Giamatti - Fred Claus

Terrible film, but Giamatti was a surprisingly good casting choice as Santa Claus. He has a delightfully idiosyncratic little soulful face, which crucially features some fine, round cheeks that form the perfect accessory for the obligatory big white beard. He also brings authenticity to the pudding shape he's packing especially for the film.
