Walken & Nivola are making Five Dollars a Day?

Catch Me If You Can, Christopher Walken has prostituted himself out to every project under the sun. His last three mainstream movies Hairspray, Man of the Year and Click are films he would never even have considered fifteen years ago. According to an article in Variety, Walken has signed up to a project that at least might be able to showcase his real talents. The movie is called Five Dollars a Day and it follows Walken as a con-artist who is proud to be living on only $5 dollars a day whilst his more conservative son played by Alessandro Nivola is locked in jail for one of his fathers crimes! I kinda like the idea of this movie but I can't put my finger on why. Maybe it's because Christopher Walken is leading it and that's something we haven't seen him do for a very long time. Production is set to begin in September in New Mexico and Atlantic City with A Lot Like Love and Calendar Girls helmer Nigel Cole to direct for the Capital Films and Thinkjam production.
