Warner Bros To Offer Full Length Films On Facebook

The most popular social networking site on the planet, Facebook, has announced its first tentative steps into the online film distribution medium as Mark Zuckerberg€™s omnipresent €œthief of time€ will, in partnership with Warner Bros, offer movies to stream from its website whilst simultaneously allow people to chat about the films online. Facebook€™s first canary down the mine will be Christopher Nolan€™s all conquering Batman film, The Dark Knight, which will be available for the equivalent of three American dollars and will be available to its user for forty-eight hours from time of purchase. A screenshot of the Facebook movie interface is shown above. The experiment€™s success could lead to a far more complete service according to Thomas Gewecke, President of Warner Bros Digital Distribution:
€œFacebook has become a daily destination for hundreds of millions of people. €€.Making our films available through Facebook is a natural extension of our digital distribution efforts. It gives consumers a simple, convenient way to access and enjoy our films through the world€™s largest social network.€
The new service should be available from this evening (March 8th) in the United States. Users need to visit the Dark Knight page and click €œlike€ in order to begin the order process.
