Warner Brothers pick up Weekend Warrior

gh.jpgVariety are reporting that Warner Brothers have picked up the script for a movie known as Weekend Warrior, which is described as being a "Ghostbusters"-like comic romp that's heavy on special effects. Hey, you can sign me up for this already. More info from the trade...
Weekend Warrior" revolves around an armchair home-repair enthusiast with no construction skills who unwittingly becomes a superhero who fights supernatural forces bent on destroying the world.
God, it really does sound like Ghostbusters. Actor Bill Birch will be making his writing debut on the script. Not quite sure about the name of the movie but I guess if they called it Ghostbusters then we would have become even more suspicious of this possible plagiarism. This sounds a load of fun and I guess with the talk of Ghostbusters 3 dying down, this might just be the classic formula of a hopeless male going up against supernatural forces in a comedic way that has surely been missing all these years.
