Edward McHenry is to bring to life a
Team America inspired WWII film, that follows an alternative history where the Germans won the Battle of Britain... only to be later defeated by the Scots! The movie is called
Jackboots on Whitehall, and the film's producer Frank Mannion told
Variety that it's...
"'Team America' in style and tone but without the strings. We are using specially made 'Action Man' type action figures, and purpose built models of Hadrian's Wall, Downing Street, etc. It's live action as opposed to animation or stop motion". Voice recording is said to have already begun with
Timothy Spall (as Winston Churchill) and
Alan Cumming (as Hitler) cast alongside
Tom Wilkinson and
Richard E.Grant among others. Alan Cumming as Hitler sounds deliciously spot on as the voice of Hitler. I'm really digging the sound of this movie. I know I use to play with my "action man" commandos and create my own little movies (although I played with plastic soldiers more, ya know like the one's out of Toy Story) in my bedroom. This should be a geeky kid's dream of a film. source -
