Wonder Woman Reviews: 11 Early Reactions You Need To See

10. Patty Jenkins' Direction Is Great

Various attempts have been made over the last twenty years to bring Wonder Woman to the bring screen, with the project passing through various directors from Ivan Reitman to Joss Whedon. In the DCEU iteration, it was initially Michelle McLaren slated to direct, but when she departed the project due to creative differences the job went to Patty Jenkins, who has at last succeeded in getting a Wonder Woman movie made.

Jenkins was an intriguing choice, because while obviously talented she hadn't actually made a movie since 2003's Monster, with just a handful of TV episodes since then (although she was set to direct Thor: The Dark World, before she herself left for creative differences).

Marvel's loss is DC's gain, however, and Jenkins seemingly proves she hasn't missed a beat in her 14 years away from the big-screen. She's seemingly nailed the period setting, and has a great grasp on these characters and what this universe should be like.
