WWE Studios Officially Making Vince McMahon Film

It's about damn time.

After years of making inferior action movies and ludicrous comedies, WWE Studios are finally making the film they should have made a long time ago: the story of Vince McMahon.

The WWE impresario will be the focus of Pandemonium, to be directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra - the directorial team behind Crazy, Stupid, Love and Focus - and released by Sony Pictures.

According to Deadline, the film will centre on McMahon's rise through the wrestling business, presumably with his blessing since his own studio is involved, from his family's control of WWE in its early days through to Vince's grand vision. Though maybe don't expect a warts and all expose (which arguably might have been more entertaining).

It's about time WWE Studios turned their attention to wrestling films rather than identikit dross like The Marine sequels and smash-ups with cartoon characters, and their presence should ensure that we get an authentic look behind the ring's magic. This will follow Paige biopic Fighting With My Family, and hopefully marks a more concentrated effort to turn iconic moments and stories from the business into big screen experiences.

The Screwjob next, perhaps? We can but hope.

And as for who should play McMahon? Well, there can be only one...
