X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Characters Who Need To Come Back

It's time for them to return...

Revised timelines: a total cop out, or a stroke of utter genius? Everyone can all debate to no end that X-Men: Days Of Future Past ending on a changed timeline was a natural progression of the narrative of the film series, but many will also see it in a far less complimentary light; a convenient plot device that enables Fox to keep making more X-Men movies. While beating a dead horse for pure profits (looking at you, Transformers) is never a good thing, the X-Men series has naturally arrived at a point where the series can restart anew, unhindered by the baggage that had started to weigh it down by the time that X-Men: The Last Stand had been released. With the excellent Days Of Future Past having brought one of the best stories from the comics to the big screen, it also served as the catalyst to reinvent existing characters and enable Singer to give a fresh perspective on characters of the series. With Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart now all but retired from the series (Apocalypse will follow the same format as X-Men: First Class), and their characters being successfully transferred to younger actors, there's now an almost endless amount of potential in terms of getting some much-loved mutants back into the X-Men films. But which ones deserve to be included? The obvious favourites such as Cyclops and Nightcrawler undoubtedly deserve a spot, but who else needs to return to ensure that fans don't feel short-changed? Read on to find out...
