X-Men: Days Of Future Past - What Did You Think?

The latest, time travel-based entry in the X-Men saga is here... but what did you make of it?

It's finally here. Yes, after what felt like forever - and somewhat controversial even, given the allegations currently facing director Bryan Singer - X-Men: Days of Future Past has hit theatres, offering up an X-Men movie that is unlike any other. The film, which brings together the casts of both the original X-Men trilogy and those brought it to play younger versions of the characters in X-Men: First Class, marks the return of both Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in their acclaimed roles as Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto, respectively, as Hugh Jackman's hero Wolverine is tasked with travelling back in time to the '70s to prevent a future apocalypse from taking place. Thankfully, the majority of critical reviews have been highly positive, with many critics citing Days of Future Past as the best X-Men movie ever made (it currently holds a super impressive 93% over at Rotten Tomatoes based on 124 reviews) - high praise, indeed, though not everyone was best pleased. Robbie Collin, film critic over at the Telegraph, said that the film "squanders both of its casts, reeling from one fumbled set-piece to the next. It seems to have been constructed in a stupor, and you watch in a daze of future past." Leigh Paatsch at the Australian Herald echoed Collins' sentiments, and said that the movie felt "unnecessarily compromised." So now that it's here, what do you make of the movie (read our review here), then? Do you agree with Sean O'Connell of Cinema Blend, who said the film was "the greatest, most complete and staggeringly entertaining to date"? Or are you a bit more in tune with what both Robbie Collin and Leigh Paatsch had to say on the latest installment in the franchise? Let us know your thoughts about X-Men: Days of Future Past in the comments section below.
