You Won't Believe What The Star Wars: Han Solo Movie Is Called

Actually, you probably will.

Solo A Star Wars Story
Lucasfilm

Production has wrapped on the previously untitled Han Solo movie and, to celebrate, Ron Howard made a special announcement on social media to announce what the film is actually going to be called.

Even though the film is slated for release in May, Lucasfilm have been tight-lipped on the name of the thing, so it was a fair assumption they might've come up with something really impressive. In the end, it's:

Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Obviously the 'A Star Wars Story' bit is just how Lucasfilm are branding these anthology movies, and Solo itself is... fine, really. It's more surprising, though, that they withheld the name for so long, and made a special announcement about it, just for it to be the most obvious thing possible (well, without the 'Han' bit, I guess).

Naturally, the internet - being, well, the internet - had a lot of fun with the news:

With production done and the title now revealed, it shouldn't be too much longer before we get a proper look at the film. Lucasfilm's marketing tactic so far has been to focus on one movie at a time, but with this coming just six months after The Last Jedi, rather than a year, they'll have to ramp up the teasing sooner - perhaps even when Episode VIII hits cinemas.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released May 25, 2018. What do you think of the name? Let us know down in the comments.
