According to JJ Abrams, the final shot of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker is kind of a big deal. In fact, he told Kevin Smith that the shot would "melt your mind."

Now that Comic Con is out of the way and D23 will follow soon, we're now heading into the period of the year where Disney will start to really aggressively turn the screw on the marketing for the next Star Wars. Whether you want to keep abreast of everything and run the risk of spoiling things is entirely your call, but millions of fans will hungrily gobble up any sort of leak or hype-building tease. So the news from Smith will no doubt prick some ears up.

Filming is now wrapped, but before it was done, the Jay & Silent Bob Reboot director visited the set and found out some buzz about a part of the set that intrigued him. However, Abrams told him that he shouldn't watch it being filmed because"You want to be in a theatre when this happens, trust me." Smith also claims that some of the crew members involved said they wished they hadn't seen the shot either.

Talk about hyping something up.

Abrams knows the value of a final shot, having reintroduced Luke Skywalker as the stinger on the end of The Force Awakens, but there's no way he'll go with something like that again. Ewoks maybe? Confirmation that the Holidays Specials were canon? Vader being alive and the idea of the Skywalker Saga being over being smushed? It's all possible - though some of it is more possible than others.
