Sports people are inherently competitive - that's their entire deal and it's just something that comes with the territory. But in a league like the NFL, where every single team is built up of individuals striving to be the best, the fastest and the most powerful, it should come as no surprise to anyone that there are some records that appear to be so unbreakable, they will probably stand forever. When you think about it, it almost laughs in the face of sporting evolution. You see it year after year in other sports: sprinters get faster, javelins go further, reaction times increase - but for some reason, 60 year old records set by some guy with no pads and a leather hat still stand. And it's not a question of the sport getting worse of course: it's more that those records are testament to feats of athletic ability so far ahead of their time that they were either wild one offs, or just the result of pure sporting focus that hasn't been seen since. So with that in mind, we dusted off the record books and dived in, head-first, to bring you 10 of the most unbelievable, crazy and most likely unbreakable records in NFL history.

Packers Legend Don Hutson's most famous record is almost too good to be true. On October 7th 1945, in a game against The Detroit Lions, he managed to score 29 points on his own, in a single quarter.

The record for Most Points - Single Quarter - Individual Player obviously still stands, and is testament to Hutsons status as one of the greatest, if not the greatest receiver of all time.
