10 Anticipated Video Games That Have Probably Been Cancelled

9. Halo 6

343 Industries

Let's face it, Halo's best days are behind it. Ten years behind.

343 Industries (despite having the best intentions and delivering the jaw-dropping Halo Anniversary Edition remaster) have succeeded only in driving what was once one of the biggest franchises on the planet, straight into the ground. Not only was Halo 4 received about as well as Battlefront 2's microtransactions, but the Master Chief Collection (which was supposed to be this all-singing all-dancing tribute to the trilogy) remains broken and unplayable to this day.

Following both these monumental missteps, Halo 5 sold the least amount for any single instalment of the entire franchise, also ending on a cliffhanger that royally peed off the fans who saw it through.

Now, Halo 6 has been announced as the ending to the "Reclaimer Trilogy" (343's arc detailing A.I. rampancy and the Chief/Cortana's relationship), but to say there's any momentum left would be an understatement. It's more likely that 343 and Microsoft will can Halo 6 and wrap the story up across comics and novels instead, much like what Mass Effect is now doing.
