10 Awesome Games With Terrible Voice Acting

9. Baten Kaitos

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wH3l-hLXmy0 Baten Kaitos is a game so rife with terrible voice acting that it's difficult to know where to begin, and it's practically impossible to single out one actor to lay all of the blame on because pretty much everyone without fail is so awful. What strikes players immediately is the idiosyncratic nature of the line readings; the characters do not speak their lines a way that even begins to approach natural, instead adopting a bizarrely affected cadence with strange, misplaced dramatic pauses all over the place. Making it worse, you might think from the above video that the dialogue sounds of low quality because it's from YouTube, but in fact, that's just how it'll sound on your TV, because for some reason the game's voice recordists decided to capture the voice-overs in someone's toilet. It gives everything this horrible echo and makes the game feel rather unprofessional despite the fact that, gameplay-wise, it is a whole lot of fun. This is a game not content merely to have terrible voice acting, but even the quality of the recordings are dire. Just awful.
