10 Awesome Games With Terrible Voice Acting

8. Deus Ex

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kihGm4KfY7k Deus Ex, quite rightly, is regarded as a classic of its genre, a fiendishly original sci-fi RPG which had the player traversing unique locales and actually dictating their own path throughout the story. Indeed, the plot was thoroughly gripping, but players would have to contend with some pretty cack-handed voice acting to make their way through it; characters frequently sound stifled and unnatural, but the worst of it comes when you meet some of the game's Asian characters, who are portrayed as heinously offensive Asian stereotypes and little more. Indeed, they all speak in "Engrish", which is funny for about a second before it gets old, and really it just draws us out of what is supposed to be an engaging and immersive environment. Thankfully we're able to look past it, but if there's ever an HD-remake of Deus Ex - which we can only dream for - they would have to re-dub these sections with voice actors who aren't trying to offend a few billion people.
