10 Awesome Video Games That Didn't Get The Credit They Deserved

10. Max Payne 3 (2012)

I've loved the Max Payne series since day one. The noir tone; the superb casting (to this day James McCaffrey, the voice of Max, is still probably my favourite video game vocal turns); the bleak story and of course the compellingly and consistently satisfying gameplay. Max Payne 3 takes all of that good stuff and brings it right on to the current generation with a bullet. With several thousand bullets actually. For me, Max Payne 3 is just as superb as the previous two titles (that is to say pretty superb) which is why I'm so shocked to be hearing of surprisingly poor sales, with Max reportedly shifting less than 50% of the copies that L.A Noir did. This is guaranteed to be hitting R* where it hurts, considering that Max Payne 3 spent a staggering eight years in development. Honestly, I'm scratching my head; it blew my mind and is now one of the few games I refuse to trade in. If you haven't played it yet, do yourself a favour, drop what you're doing immediately and go buy yourself a copy. You won't regret it.
