10 Awful-Sounding Video Games That (Fortunately) Got Cancelled

3. Perfect Dark Core

Developer: Rare Year of cancellation: 2007 There's a time when the idea of a cancelled Perfect Dark game being something to be happy about would be considered blasphemous. Sadly, Rare just isn't the developer it once was, and the disappointing Perfect Dark Zero showed that the franchise was better off living on in fond memories. Perfect Dark Core was to be a proper sequel to the original game, apparently starring a "smoking, flirting" Joanna Dark. The game was also planned to feature a more realistic, gritty feel than previous games. None of this sounds like the Perfect Dark we knew and loved, sounding more like an appeal to the mid-'00s trend of making every game edgier and darker with every sequel. Ultimately, Perfect Dark Core was cancelled due to the low sales of Perfect Dark Zero.
