Every third-party developer wanted a slice of the motion-controlled pie during the years the Wii's dominance, not least Konami, who had cooked up a remarkably harebrained game just for Nintendo's console.

Castlevania Judgment, a 3D fighter born out of the publisher's desire to take advantage of waving plastic peripherals around like a loon, hit the Wii not long after its launch but did nothing to draw in longtime fans of the classic platforming series. Besides being a mechanical mess, thanks to an unwieldy camera and unresponsive controls, the spin-offs character design was dumped on from great heights by critic and fan alike, thanks to them looking nothing like their original designs.

We're all for giving characters a makeover once in a while, but dressing gaming's most famous vampire hunter in bondage gear? Simon Belmont deserved more respect.
