10 Best Historical First-Person Shooter Video Games

9. Men Of Valor (2004)

Nordic Games

The recent decade has shown a number of FPS games centering on the Vietnam War, but Men of Valor is arguably one of the most authentic. Players control a marine named Dean Shepherd as he traverses through the jungles of Vietnam, engages in firefights with the North Vietnamese and rides vehicles from Huey choppers to armored riverboats. Everything from the guns and even the soundtrack is portrayed faithfully from the era.

What truly makes Men of Valor great is its accurate portrayal of Vietnam War combat. There is that feeling of survival whenever Shepherd rescues POWs or go hunting for Viet Cong hiding behind the jungle. Entering spider holes or enemy huts had never felt as tense and scary as this Vietnam War game.
