10 Best Nintendo Switch Exclusives Of 2018

9. Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition

Hyrule Warriors is a Wii U port, but given the incredibly low number of players who bought that console, it felt like a brand new game. There’re two other ports which made the cut, although the Bayonetta double edition missed out; the first Bayonetta was released on a wider array of consoles so it wasn’t exactly hitting a brand new audience in 2018.

Hyrule Warriors was though, at least for the most part. Although it isn’t the highest ranked franchise mash-up featured (no prizes for guessing what that is), the mix of Dynasty Warriors and Zelda worked surprisingly well. The hack and slash mechanics play smoothly, and it’s nice to see Link in a more combat heavy environment than the one he usually finds himself in.

If you’re looking for a Zelda game, go play Breath Of The Wild. This is more like a spin-off, but it’s a brilliant one. What is similar to the mainline Zelda games is how easy it is to pour hours and hours into it.

If you like Dynasty Warriors, you’ll definitely enjoy this too. The series often comes under fire for mindlessly repetitive action, but if that’s a problem for you, don’t expect that to change in Hyrule.
