10 Biggest Snubs From The Game Awards 2017

3. Nier: Automata

Nier 2
Square-Enix

Oh boy, here we go.

Nier: Automata is easily one of the most popular and beloved games of 2017, garnering huge amounts of critical success and a fan-base that absolutely adores it.

This isn't without good reason either because Automata is an absolutely breath-taking experience that has one of the most intriguing stories and methods of delivering that story in any game ever.

Although the combat and gameplay is pretty standard fare for a game developed by Platinum, it's truly Automata's story, characters and world-building that make it so unmissable.

To be completely fair to The Game Awards, Nier: Automata did manage to be nominated for three separate categories and even won for having the best soundtrack. However, the fact that Nier: Automata somehow didn't win the 'Best Narrative' award is absolutely baffling.

Besides the original Nier, there hasn't ever been a game like Nier: Automata and there likely won't ever be again. No matter how great What Remains of Edith Finch's story is, it simply can't compete with how much Automata makes you feel.
