9. Capcom Releasing A Resident Evil 6 Remaster

Remasters are a weird new trend in the games industry, though you can understand the basic logic; many last-gen games can look much better on newer hardware, you can pitch them as the 'way the game was always meant to be', and it gives new players a chance to play a glossy version of last-gen classics they may have missed.

And the word 'classics' is important here. Why Capcom thought it was a good idea to remaster Resident Evil 6, one of the last gen's most disappointing and criticised games, is beyond comprehension. News for you, Capcom, you can't 'remaster' a game that was never really mastered in the first place.

Capcom have been candid about their intentions for Resident Evil 6, and admitted they wanted to attract more CoD fans to the series. Even though RE6 sold very well initially thanks to the historical strength of the franchise, it also killed the series stone dead by abandoning any semblance of horror. It's telling that the remastered version's console sales barely hit 100k, as opposed to the last-gen version, which unbelievably sold nearly five million copies.

The people won't be fooled again, Capcom...
