10 Bold Gaming Predictions For 2015

Will virtual reality finally be better than...real reality?

2014 has been a year of transition for video games. The Playstation 4 and Xbox One have begun to settle down, with the Console Wars all but abandoned and everybody more focused on just making great games. Steam continues to revolutionise the way we play PC games, even more so with the addition of the beta-funding initiative Greenlight. And then there was #GamerGate. Ah, #GamerGate. What a crock of nonsense you were. Still, that whole mess seems to be just about snuffed out, and many of the other big scandals of the year in gaming €“ the bugginess of the new Assassin's Creed, the mess of Destiny's launch €“ seem to be under control. Now everything's back to normal and all the AAA releases are done, it's time to look forward. If these past twelve months have been transitional, then 2015 should be a year to focus back on what's important. As in, well, the games. There's a slew of brilliant releases on the calendar for the foreseeable future, with Arkham Knight (presumably) finally about to round out Rocktseady's Batman games, Metal Gear Solid V debuting properly, and the latest instalments of Halo, Battlefield and Zelda. Everybody and their long-suffering mums knows about what's coming out in the next year, but what about some the broader view? What are the upcoming trends? What'll be hot, and what'll be so not? Here are ten such bold predictions for gaming in 2015.
