10 Cancelled Video Games That Would Have Been Awesome

1. Star Wars Battlefront 3 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyg_ZEFlcI8 Number one: and in many gamers eyes, the most infuriating video game cancellation of all time. Star Wars Battlefront 1&2 were two games much beloved by players everywhere. Their premise was simple: Take the online shooter formula popularised by the DICE's Battlefield games and add vehicles, weapons, locations and characters from the Star Wars franchise. It worked. Let'S face it: there's never going to be anything in the entire history of fiction that is more satisfying than watching a Snow Speeder take down an AT-AT using just a tow cable. Being able to perform such an act upon your friends is just as fantastic as gamers everywhere imagined. So when Battlefront 3 was announced to the public, you can imagine that people got, a little bit excited. Like the previous nine games on this list, things didn't go smoothly. Depending on which side you believe; Publisher LucasArts were hell bent on not spending a large chunk of their marketing budget on Battlefront 3, so, cut all ties with developer Free Radical, essentially cutting the supply line of funding and development aid. LucasArts on the other hand, claim Free Radical simply couldn't serve up a quality product. There's probably blame to be had on both sides, and I encourage you to read up on both sides of the argument. I'm not going to rant to dissect the rumor and speculation, simply because: there's nothing to say. Battlefront 3 was cancelled. No more. Game Over. No amount of thinking what could have been or, watching the recently leaked alpha gameplay demo on youtube for the dozenth time hoping that maybe if I wish hard enough it might become real... Disney: We're looking at you. Please, please give us the game all us Star Wars fans are waiting for. We're going to throw our money at your new film releases anyway, so you could, like, throw a game or two our way. Which games were you looking forward to, only to have your excitement replaced with disappointment? Tell us in the comments below.
