Video Games have always been a hotbed for any number of ridiculous rumours. From the Tomb Raider nude code, reviving Aerith in Final Fantasy 7 and the story of a little arcade game named Polybius. In a pre-internet time, various myths and legends would crop up around famous games, yet only a small handful had any substance to them.

This didn€™'t stop them spreading and clinging onto their respective games over the years, despite being debunked. Now it€™'s a little harder for games to have a solid myth surrounding them since most of these stories are easier to dismiss. Unless something is really well hidden, chances are it will be discovered within days of release. That being said occasionally you€™ll come across a rumour so outrageous, so farfetched it almost has to be true; or at the very least have some element of truth to it.

With the amount of bogus stories out there it can be tough to separate fact from fiction, but with a little bit of digging it€™s possible to emerge with a selection of games where €“against all odds €“the silly rumour surrounding a hidden character or fan theory turned out to be true. And no, the Lara Croft nude code isn€™t one of them.
