10 Despicable Gaming Moments That Show The Censors Might Have A Point

Those moments when a line has been crossed...

As Charlie Brooker said on his TV show €“ Charlie Brooker: How Video Games Changed the World €“ graphical fidelity is great and all, but there is such a thing as too much. That too much is probably when Kung Lao drags someone across the ground, kicking and screaming through his blade-hat for an MK9 fatality. And, while part of my 'job' as a video-game critic is to defend unformulated views on violent and or explicit video-games, I do find some titles €“ like I find some films, television shows, books, people €“ needlessly repugnant. Now, this list in no way is declaring that I think because you can rip someone's spine out of their body like a strand of cheese string, these kinds of games should be banned. This list is merely saying I can recognise that there are some games that might push so hard on the moral scale, banning them might be the answer. Though I might seem like I'm attacking the things gamers hold dear, you must understand that in order to improve gaming as a medium, we must look at both sides of the argument. So with that in mind, here's my list of the 10 Despicable Gaming Moments That Show The Censors' Might Have A Point.

10. Mortal Kombat (2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-RN5Dbp7NM Okay Peter, maybe I'm being a big girl's blouse, but come on. Honestly, ask yourself if you think the series is played out. And, now, is only trying to shock gamers - like I said in a previous article. If you want my full opinion of what I think of the fatalities, give that a read. If you can't be bothered to read it, it basically says that Mortal Kombat tries to mask a poorly-designed game with grotesque gore and viscera. However, here's a video of fatalities to whet your whistle. As I'm sure you'll agree, they're a bit try-hard, and so overly violent that it's actually a bit uncomfortable.

Thomas James Hunt is a British Video Game Critic who is a rather unpleasant character in the journalism world. So brace yourself for some nasty behaviour in the form of articles.
