10 Epic Video Games You Probably Never Finished

9. Gothic 3

On paper, Gothic 3 seems like a pretty impressive game. Its in-game world is not only impressive in sheer size but boasts a variety of grand quests and little world-building touches that give gamers plenty of reason to dive in head first and start exploring.

Unfortunately for Gothic 3, it came out around the same time as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and this game is no Oblivion. Even if you're not making the comparison, it's difficult to get past Gothic 3's generic mission design and inferior combat. There's certainly incredible depth to be found in this game, but the way you have to explore everything and progress through the game is monotonous. Sometimes it's easy to put up with mechanical defenses in the name of a grand adventure, but Gothic 3 is just too broken and boring to justify itself.

Gothic 3's sheer amount of content already makes it one hell of a time sink and those mechanical issues don't make justifying playing the entire game any easier.
