As the modern gaming industry is obsessed with hyping up each major game as the next big thing, it's amazing that anything ever slips through the cracks.
However, considering the massive year 2017 has been in its first three months, with prominent titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Mass Effect Andromeda all releasing in the same month, it's not exactly surprising that some games have been ignored in favour of the major AAA titles.
Whether it's an indie game that's a little too experimental for the mainstream or a higher budgeted release that has been relatively under-covered by the media, the games on this list deserve some time in the spotlight nonetheless before they're ignored by the gaming community.
The vast majority of titles that make up this list will be upcoming games scheduled to drop across the year, but some have already been released to critical acclaim, only to be overshadowed by the relentless release schedule this first quarter has seen.
As such, this list is compiled of games and experiences that promise to be either greatly unique, great fun, or maybe even both.
