10 Greatest Batman Video Games Of All-Time

8. LEGO Batman (2008)

Even though the LEGO adventure games had somewhat run their course by the time the Caped Crusader got his shot, LEGO Batman is by far the best of the group. If you've played any LEGO games, you know how LEGO Batman works. Players smash the crap out of LEGOs in order to build useful objects and pick up coins. You can warp to different levels from a central command center, allowing you to pick up additional coins and eventually purchase unlockable content such as playable characters. Oh, and when you hit a bad guy, he explodes. So, you do get to satisfy all the sadistic fantasies you had as a kid about how the LEGO people would really do battle. Despite being a bit run of the mill in its basic gameplay, LEGO Batman stands out by allowing you to replay through levels as several villains (each with their own powers), having a somewhat enchanced combat system, and most importantly: being about Batman. Even though I'm not usually a fan of the LEGO adventure game genre, I have to admit that this one was the best of all the LEGO games. It has a myriad of different characters with which you can try different play styles and different abilities. That alone adds a substantial amount of spice to the game, as I often found myself just trying to unlock one more character to use their abilities. Additionally, the game was quite long, and worth several playthroughs, something I've found increasingly rare in modern games.
