Since nowadays it's perceived as a series of immature and ridiculous games by a majority amongst the gaming community. However, you've got to hand it to them, the first time you played Modern Warfare you never saw this one coming. Not even movies or TV shows risk themselves so much when doing something like this. Usually when a mission like that happens or when there are nuclear weapons involved, the heroes survive through them or somehow manage to stop the blast. Not in this case, here you see a more realistic approach when not only you can't stop the bomb from detonating, but you actually die as a result of it. This event pretty much unleashes most of the major events in the Modern Warfare series, and it has become in the greatest plot twist ever written for a game like this one.
