10 Greatest Video Game Easter Eggs From 2012 You Might Have Missed

9. Hamsters In Space: Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect Hamster Mass Effect 3 heralded the conclusion of Commander Sheppard and his fight to save the galaxy from the Reaper threat. The game itself improved in a lot of areas over the previous two games- with an improved cover system, grenades that are actually useful and vastly improved enemy AI. The biggest controversy surrounding this highly anticipated conclusion however was the biggest anti-climatic ending in recent video game history. There was a somewhat lack of closure to the series, inconsistancies with the lore that had already been established, plot holes and the biggest let down- the lack of final boss. Due to fan pressure- Bioware announced that they would be releasing a free download to expand the ending- but not actually replace it. It didn't stop the game being highly enjoyable though if you were a diehard fan of the series. There was a nice little reference to the previous Mass Effect game that you may have missed. Remember that cute little hamster you purchased in Mass Effect 2 from the Citadel Souvenir Shop? Well the little blighter has now escaped and running around the engineering deck of the Normandy. Once you catch the little blighter it returns to its cage in the Captain's Cabin. While not exactly hard to do- it's always nice to see a nod to previous games. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KR-BV-dACwo
