10 Hip-Hop Songs That Reference Popular Video Games

7. Joe Budden - 6 Minutes Of Death (2006)

Joe Budden is a rapper that some have discredited over the years and this is something he acknowledged in Slaughterhouse's Freestyle on The Backroom with the lyrics:

"I'd be the first to admit it, lost focus for a while

Sendin' unsolicited **** pics to dimwitted thick chicks

Was so high I lost track of my ways."

In 6 Minutes of Death, Budden uses his rhymes to hit a Nintendo reference out of the park.

"Check the time, it's around an hour,

Little n***** they ain't 'round that powder,

They ain't super or Luigi or Mario, ain't found that power,

Plus they couldn't spit fire if they found that flower."

What's great about this one is that it's not just a decent shout out to a particular game, but that the actual content of the game completes the line as a diss to every other rapper that can't match the ability of Budden.
