Back in the 90s, there was something supremely cool about a video game hero with a blonde crew-cut, skimpy T-shirt and rippling muscles who'd growl lewd comments at every woman he encountered. Duke was a pioneering figure in video game chauvinism; a toilet-humoured, gun-toting meathead whose primary reason for fighting aliens was to rescue babes. In earlier Duke games, there was a degree of restraint about the guy; he'd make the sleazy remarks, but never follow through on them - kind of like your regular pervy uncle. But in Duke Nukem Forever, it all explodes in an orgy of blowjobs, upskirt ogling, and other crass sexual exploits. As Duke says things like "you can polish my brass any time" to a maid, or after glimpsing up a skirt grumbles "Jackpot", I envision him as a dirty old man who's had his day - making jokes that make women squirm, and unable to resist shoving his nasty sunbed-toasted pecker into every glory-hole he finds (which actually happens in the game). Duke also seems to be surrounded by submissive women dressed up in schoolgirl outfits and maid uniforms, making you wonder whether this is a fate that awaits the babes he rescues from aliens.
