10 Huge 2016 Video Game Rumours You're Not Supposed To Know

9. Mass Effect: Andromeda Getting A Gameplay Demo?

Hype for Bioware's next opus has been all over the place. On the one hand you had the fallout from Mass Effect 3 being thousands of invested players left so 'betrayed' and unsatisfied by the trilogy's ending, they never wanted to go anywhere near it again. Such negativity got EA voted The Worst Company in America by Consumerist magazine, but after the forum-bombs had dropped and we'd acclimatised to the fact this is how the series was bowing out, eventually both the community and Bioware themselves could start to rebuild. As such, the next game is deviating away altogether from the original trilogy's characters, ships and settings - we're hopping across to the titular Andromeda galaxy, as gameplay will move into a more Metal Gear Solid V-style open-world resource-gatherer, complete with interweaving character arcs, base-building and an expansion on the mythology in every respect. You can read more about what they're working on over here, and it's sure to be at next year's E3 at the latest. Likelihood? 10/10 Bioware need to prove to the world they know what they're doing with the franchise, and as Andromeda's leak told us way more than their initial debut trailer did, it's high-time they provided a real statement of intent.
