10 Impossible Video Game Boss Battles That Totally Broke You

9. Bed Of Chaos (Dark Souls)

Ornstein & Smough or Gwyn the Lord of Cinder are often cited as the most popular annoyances in Dark Souls, but that gets around the fact that Bed of Chaos is damn-near broken.

Coming at you with huge sweeping tendrils that get annoyingly obscured by the camera, humungous amounts of damage will deplete your life bar in seconds. Outside of that, Bed of Chaos regularly pushes you around, making attacks miss or skittering you into the abyss below.

Once again: Instant death.

Even just getting to this fight was a slog, running to and fro across a series of lava pools whilst avoiding multiple huge enemies, just so you could try to figure out how to survive - only to be crushed in seconds.

To this day, fans use a 'cheat' to beat the boss - literally using Bed of Chaos' momentum to fling your character onto a specific path right underneath its body, allowing you to finish the thing off by striking a weak spot.

If you simply didn't look online or never figured this out though... good luck having the stones to see it through.
