10 Incredibly Geeky But Totally Awesome Remixes

9. Groundhog - Nosia/Scratch Perverts

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_3ledCtpV4 Okay, maybe it is cheating to add a song from DJ Hero, but if anyone recognises this they certainly have a nerdy streak in them. This song has given me nightmares before. Featured as the penultimate song in DJ Hero, it is far and away the most difficult song in the game. The whole conceit of the song is that it is near impossible to play, but it is certainly tons of fun to listen to. From the constant egging on by the voice, to some of the downright ridiculous 'djing' going on, the song is just great fun listen to. For me, it is a great tone setter and there is plenty of partying to be had from this. However, don't get too cocky and try and take this on in DJ Hero any time soon. On the harder levels, it will twist your mind inside out.

8. Dire Dire Docks - Michael Knap

Here is one for the aficionados. Sure you could go with the classic world 1-1 song from Super Mario, but people would be expecting that. Instead throw them a curve ball. Give them one of the least appreciated but truly great songs from the whole Nintendo 64 console generation. Dire Dire Docks is a gorgeous song on its own but you almost certainly didn't come for that. You want heavy bass lines and great mixing. May I present to you this little gem. Chocked full of all that, the song has a surprising amount of scope and is sure to fill the whole room with its echoy sounds. This mixes something truly beautiful with some really smart mixing. Its a must from me.
