10 Insane Gaming Conspiracy Theories

10. Pokemon: Murderer

pokemon red and blue In Pokemon Red/Blue, you play as a humble 10 year old who strives to be the very best in his field, or looking at it another way, you are a child who is incredibly violent as he uses his pets to make money and trains them to fight to the best, often pushing them to the point of death and will stop at nothing to get to the top, including killing opponents. That second one doesn't sound exactly right, but a theory that has been circulating the internet suggests it may be closer to the truth than many of us would like to believe. The story goes that aboard the SS Anne, we encounter our arch rival, the arrogant Gary (or whatever you may have decided to call him), who challenges you to a battle, once again naively believing that he can beat you this time, despite having already lost to you a few times before this point. Once again, you mercilessly crush your rival, embarrassing him and go your separate ways, and this much is cannon and occurs in game. However, according to the theory, in the chaos and confusion aboard the luxury liner, Gary cannot reach a Pokemon center in time, and his Raticate dies. The next time you encounter your arch rival is in Lavender town's Pokemon Tower, Gary no longer has Raticate, instead using a combination of Gyarados, Exeggcute, and Growlithe depending on which starting Pokemon you picked. This suggests that Gary is in the Pokemon Tower to mourn the loss of his Raticate, only for you to once again trample his team. It gets even darker as the theory progresses, suggesting that Gary promised his dead Pokemon that he would strive to be the best and avenge his Raticate's death, spurring him on to defeat the champions only for you to arrive moments later and once again crush his team. Adding further insult to the injury of his loss, Gary's grandfather Professor Oak arrives moments after the battle and chastises Gary while heaping praise on you. Really makes you look at Gary and his bullying light in a whole new way. Also, Gary seems to not have any parents as well meaning that not only do you crush an orphan's dream you also savage his pets, aren't you a hero.
