10 Moments That Made You Quit Gaming For Good

7. Perma-Quit Bug (Darksiders)

There are few phrases in video gaming more frightening to the player than "game-breaking glitch", a bug either so devastating or poorly timed that it means you've lost, at the very least, a good few hours of progress.

The importance of frequently changing save slots is paramount if you're going to take on Darksiders, a game THQ clearly didn't test with the most discerning of eyes.

Google down this particular rabbit hole and you'll find a hearty helping of disgruntled Darksiders complaining about the time they'd invested in the 2010 release only for a glitchy gate to stop their save, or a piece of the game failing to react as intended, effectively shutting down their story.

They don't appear to be set in stone, either, but can often appear at random, meaning there are few places in Darksiders safe from the glitch. It's especially disappointing as Darksiders is an extremely fun hack-and-slash at its finest.

You can play through the game and never encounter one of these bugs, and to those people I say: "You must not have done as many bad things in a previous life."
