10 Most Annoying Multiplayer Weapons In Video Games

Seriously, f**k the blue shell.

Nobody likes losing a multiplayer match. It's a dreadful feeling to queue up for a few rounds in your favorite game and get simply destroyed, despite your best efforts. Whenever it happens, the best thing you can do is chin up, say "good game" and walk away a good loser.

Sometimes, though, you don't feel like being a good loser. Sometimes you want to throw both middle fingers at your screen and start screaming such awful vulgarities into your headset that your mother will begin to unexpectedly blush, wherever she may be. But why? What could ever cause a perfectly rational person to act this way?

Annoying multiplayer weapons is what. Although game design has advanced a lot over the years, the one thing you can be sure of is that a frustratingly broken weapon will find its way into almost every multiplayer game, and that someone will quickly figure out how to take advantage of it in a way that makes you want to tear your hair out. These annoying weapons tend to sweep over game servers like a plague, until finally you reach a point when you either start using them yourself, or simply quit.

If cheap multiplayer weapons were war crimes, the use of this lot would be justification for life sentences...

10. Proximity Mines (GoldenEye 007)

Rare

There are many things that players should fear when wandering the battleground of a multiplayer shooter, but it's rare that the mere act of walking around becomes the greatest source of fear.

GoldenEye's proximity mines weren't just frustrating because they were often hidden in the darkest parts of the map and could grant kills to a player that was nowhere near them, but also because they were ridiculously powerful. The blast radius and damage output meant that you didn't even have to walk directly into a trap to fall victim to it.

It's not long into your average match before someone starts to abuse these little beauties and, once that happens, the game devolves into a contest of who can walk around the slowest.
