Originally intended to release in November, August saw Crackdown 3 pushed back to an unknown date in early 2018.

The delay was probably for the best however, as the latest game in the long-running Xbox series looked like it was heading for trouble. Re-emerging after going dark for a year at E3 a few months ago, the new version had dropped the city-wide destruction that its previous unveiling focused so much on.

And with that feature being pared back, fans were wondering just what the new release had to offer to further evolve the franchise. Thankfully, over the next few months Microsoft will be able to figure that out.

Crackdown has been away for too long, and hopefully 2018 will be the year the franchise makes its grand return to Xbox consoles.
