10 Most Memorable Side-Quests In RPG Game History

3. Skyrim - The Thieves Guild Questline

Bethesda is known for their expansive open worlds and near-endless supply of side-quests to tie players down until their next game is released, but Bethesda have raised the already-high bar again with Skyrim. But between the various Daedric quests (particularly 'A Night To Remember'), the Dark Brotherhood quests, or the many, many random dungeon quests, it is the Thieves Guild questline that manages to squeeze ahead of all the other quests. Not only is becoming a full-fledged thief for the Thieves Guild incredibly awesome, but the questline is layered with betrayals, new alliances, eye-widening reveals, and of course, the free-reign to indulge in some kleptomania. And that's just the first 1/2 of the questline. At the dust has settled on all the fights, stealing, and dungeon-raiding, you end up with an awesome underground thief headquarters, the power of a Daedric prince behind you, an awesome suit of Thieves armour, and more than enough gold to go all Scrooge McDuck with. When you have awesome side-quests smacking you in the face left, right, and centre, there is little doubt as to why Skyrim is considered the king of open-world RPGs (at least until Fallout 4 is released).

My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem. Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh. You can follow me at @Fry_ying_pan but don't be offended if I don't tweet back. It's usually because I've spent too long trying to think up a witty response that the reply window has closed.
